Could someone please help (For reward) find the best business class option to LAX.

Velocity Platinum- 50k points in account if that can at all be used?

Holiday plan is ex Cairns. Planning on San Fran/Orlando Return to Cairns for 2 weeks Between End August 2015 And Mid September 2015

Need assistance with best international booking price wise, any airline if points cannot be used.

Have you looked at the velocity website?
All the above info is in the velocity website. I would advise familiarizing yourself with the velocity frequent flyer program and the website.

What have you looked at thus far?. Possible routes to LAX: CNS-BNE-LAXor CNS-HKG-LAX or CNS-other north asian airport-lax

There are several permutations as to best fares to LAX from CNS. Have you tried a travel agent to see what fares they can give you. This is often the best starting point if you are unsure. Then after that you will have some starting point to do some exploration yourself.

I suggest you put in flights in the virgin website to see what is available. As you are platinum You might be able to book a flexible premium economy ticket and then request an upgrade. Will cost you 50k points return plus fare for flexible premium economy for one person if upgrade available.

https://www.velocityfrequentflyer.c...tUpgrades/upgrademe-points/index.htm#longhaul

Or you can buy an economy/premium economy ticket and bid a price you are prepared to pay to upgrade with cash not points.

Business class reward return to LAX from Australia on VA will cost at least 188k points per person.

What is the best price you have found............so we know what to beat?

Investigate the BNE-NAN-LAX on FJ which has been discussed on AFF many times and which I am doing soon. I'm not in my office to check my records but I think it was sub $4K return in J

Thanks guys, will have a look at those options

Dovey, Can you let us know the best fare you have so far. There is a way to do this routing quite cheaply but I'm unsure whether it is worth posting or not since you may already have the best fare?

Hi Browski

Any chance you could post about doing this routing quite cheaply anyways? Or happy for a PM.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Aaron.
I don't know what other people regard as cheap. So if you, for example, could post what the best fare you have, then I'll post if I have a cheaper option. But I really don't want to make the effort if my option is already more expensive than what you have.

no dramas Browski.

were you referring to the BNE-NAN, NAN-LAX-NAN, NAN-BNE routing where you book them separately with FJ and pay with $FJD? Comes in somewhere between $3-4k AUD depending on saver or sale availability

or is there a different trick?

That option is pretty good, and you can swap the BNE-NAN flight for a VA flight CNS-BNE-NAN;
Also you would also possibly swap the NAN-BNE leg for a NAN-SYD-CNS flight.

However, becasue they are travelling with and infant, I would only recommend that if they were doing a stopover in NAN.

Instead, I can see other options.
For example is a $6K fare cheap, is a $5K fare cheap is a $4k fare cheap? Of course they are all cheap, if the best fare discovered so far is $7K!
So if someone posts a specific price they've found, then members of this board will have a crack at finding a cheaper price.
