Hi everyone,
Flying out tomorrow night (20/1) at 22:50 with Qatar Airways in Business.
Their website says that the usual lounges are Qantas Business which is “TEMPORARILY CLOSED”, Qantas First (only first class) and then their third lounge the Marhaba Lounge which are both also inexplicably closed for just the 20/1…. I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. What is going on with that!? Have I struck out with the worst luck in history?
Anyone know if any other lounges are taking Qatar First and Business passengers or is someone out to spite me and the stars are aligning such that I won’t be able to get into a lounge before my flight?
Thanks for any info in advance!

I'm sure I recently read a tale where someone flying a OW airline expected in theory to be able to get access to the QF F lounge, only to find that in practice the QF F lounge was not actually open at the time of his OW flight.

It looks like these are the current MEL F lounge opening times:

Lounge opening hours are three hours before the Melbourne to Singapore flight (QF35), Melbourne to London Heathrow flight (QF9), Melbourne to Los Angeles flight (QF93) and closes once these flights depart. At all other times the lounge will be closed.

For 20/1, Google says QF35 departed at lunchtime, QF9 is scheduled to depart 6.45pm and QF93 appears not to be flying today.

With a 22.50 QR departure it looks like the best the OP can hope for is a 4 hour delay to QF9 so that the F lounge might stay open until it boards. Or maybe at the very least they will hand out some vouchers at checkin? (Assuming any airport shops, cafes etc are still open at that time of night).

Regardless of whether the QF F lounge is open, to passengers travelling in J on QR even have access (unless Oneworld Emerald)? Qantas is sending its own passengers who would otherwise have J lounge access to the F lounge, but this isn't necessarily the case for other airlines.

I suspect the OP is more likely to get some vouchers as compensation for not having access to any lounge, but hopefully @mika_duffer will be able to let us know how it went.

Hi all. Bumping this thread. Doing the same flight next week and wanted to check if anyone has done this recently and had they lounge access. I’m a qf plat. Thanks
