It looks like Butterworth AFB will close.

Many Australian service personnel have been based at Butterworth over the decades. Of course Butterworth and surrounds are now very popular tourist spots

Went there 13 times in 6 years. Love Penang. The base was looking pretty tired last time i was there though.

My cousin retired from the airline industry to Penang. There goes half the golf club...
