As chi chi as the bull fighter aprons were, the guys thought they were a hoot...yes men do cook. BKK stopover - 8 key rings for a 100 Baht for the work folk.

Sorry, but what is MSC?

Had to Google it:

http://www.tourama.net/traveltips/jargonbuster.html

Most Significant Carrier (MSC) This is a industry term used to see which airline's baggage rules apply in a complex interline route. The rules are complicated, so if there is a confusion, please ask your travel consultant. The applicable baggage allowances will be in the GDS (q.v.)

GDS Global Distribution System. An online, multi-supplier, worldwide computerised reservation system used by travel agents for airline, hotel and other services bookings. Common GDS systems include Amadeus, Galileo, Abacus, Worldspan and Sabre.

I collect the Starbucks mugs!

Hope there are no dregs of coffee in them, markis - otherwise you'll be responsible for the international carrage of toxic waste!

Starbucks!!!!!

Thank heavens they are all but disappeared from the Australian scene - hopefully next will be Gloria Jeans!

When will the international food and beverage companies realise that Australians like their coffee - Arabica and Kenya are by far the clear preferences by sales fgues: yet they try and hoist South American and rainforest certified on us: if anyone noticed, when MacDonalds changed a while back to south American coffee, their Cafe sales plummeted!

OK - off topic rant and rage over!

I can fit a weeks supplies in a briefcase. But swmbo wants me to bring back a huge suitcase of stuff. What do you guys think? Better to take an empty suitcase over and have to wait at LAX before my connection or buy something cheap over there? I've done this so many times I have a dozen light 4 wheel bags in the garage...it's a pain.

When I travel with SWMBO we check luggage.:-|

What I do is pack an empty collapsible duffel bag or the like. For the trip home this gets filled with robust items such as clothing and travels as checked luggage.

I dont go out of my way to buy gifts for people, but if I see something that theyd like I might buy it, assuming its light. Usually little things, like some soap for my sister etc, that you cant get at home. For myself, I love buying a mix of t-shirts, magnets and shot glasses. All small and light (though I did buy enough tees on my last trip that I needed to buy a duffle bag...which Ill travel with in my suitcase next time).

I don't buy gifts or souvenirs for others. Just buy myself a handbag and some shoes as these are usually better quality and a better price than I can get at home. Consequently I always travel outbound with just the shoes on my feet and no handbag.
