Hello everyone

I received a travel exemption and left the country to Switzerland last week. I didn't get insurance but I am now looking into it and am a bit confused about my options.
Considering all countries have a travel ban from the Australian government at the moment I am assuming that I wont be covered by any Australian policies and therefor have to buy with a foreign company such as one from the UK (as the UK lists Switzerland as a safe country to travel to). Is this possible as an Australian citizen?
I am looking into travel insurance but also just health insurance as I am staying in one place in Switzerland and not travelling around and don't need luggage cover etc.
Does anyone know companies or policies I could check out for my situation?
Thanks everyone.

I can’t vouch for any of these but since I’m in a similar position to yourself I have collected a few places to look.

heymondo.com
Americanvisitorinsurance.com (Despite the name they offer worldwide cover)

and I believe covermore is still offering policies from Australia.

as always read the policies carefully, remember the pricing will be in US dollars not the South Pacific peso and I am interested in what you find out. Good luck.

I have recently received emails from allclear offering covid cover. The email is from a UK address. I have used allclear (Australia) in the past as I have great difficulty with finding travel insurance due to pre existing health conditions.

I recently received a claim rejection from travel insurance bought with QFF. Reason is policy does not cover cancellation caused by government declared pandemic.
