Cairns lounge not accepting complimentary invites for JQ

I was trying to link my complimentary invite to JQ flight for Cairns Qantas club but they had this message up:

• The Cairns – The Qantas Club is not currently accepting Complimentary Lounge Invitations for JQ passengers.

Anyone knows why and whether or not that will change anytime soon?

Just a guess, but maybe because JQi ex CNS has ramped back up with it's rubbish transit times (often 3-5 hour connections) and the CNS QP was being swamped with both outbound and inbound passengers for many hours.

Yes, actually I'm in that boat. 4 hours transit to Osaka

I actually gave the lounge a call and they didn't seem to be aware of the current rule and asked me to just link my invitation anyway.

Will see if I get turned away on the day.

Does anyone have an update on this? I'm going in a few days, and when I linked it, I don't think the message was there, nor does it stop you from linking now. Is it maybe just a disclaimer that you maybe refused entry if it's too busy or something?

This is interesting, will definitely keep an eye on this. I will be flying into Cairns from Tokyo in a few months via Jetstar and then second part of the leg will be via Jetstar to Melbourne. Will have a few hours to kill and was hoping to use my Points Club lounge pass at the Cairns Qantas lounge....

I didn't bother to try as was travelling with someone that didn't have a QFF and was too difficult to give them one of my invites and sign them up (they're not good with technology). Would be interesting to know if anyone else has had success. I guess they don't allow Jetstar due to the amount of Jetstar International flights at Cairns...
