Can anyone identify the arrival gate for QF23 at BKK on 23 Sep 2023

Hi,

I had a late departure on QF23 SYD and needed a personal trainer to guide me to my connecting flight with Thai Airways in BKK

Trying to work out how far I had to run and what gate QF23 deplaned in BKK

Checked bags didn't make it to the connecting flight, but I got there , and nearly collapsed (only to find the transfer bus, then waited 20min at the steps to the aircraft for 20min before we could board ;(

Checked bags turned up the following day, just after midday

We don't have a QF liaison on here anymore, QFi would have the info, but they probably won't give it out, just because someone wanted to know.
Not trying to be rude or anything like that.
Flightaware and Flightradar keeps tracks of a few days of flight, but not gate info.
BKK airport probably knows as well, but also like QF, it would be hard contacting someone, unless we or you or I, (I don't), but unless we know someone who works there, either at QF or at BKK Suvarnabhumil

flightstats.com keeps gate data (for limited airports), but the data for anything past the most recent flight is behind a pay wall.

The boarding pass would only show the departure gate in SYD. They are after the arrival gate at BKK

I thought to look at the last week or so of data but neither QF or flightaware is showing gate arrival info (or departure for the 24) to even give an idea if there's a pattern or consistent gate being used. Not that it would mean much for September per se, but I was thinking often airlines can use a set of gates more often than not (such as QF using close in gates at HKG).

anyway nothing much I can add here alas.

Apparently Qantas is in Concourse B

If that’s the case there’s only 6 gates

Maybe a google search of the BKK int terminal map might help.

Flightaware usually shows the gate info but looks like it didn't capture the arrival gate info for this flight. The same plane (VH-QPA) did take off 2 hours later as QF24, but unfortunately FlightAware didn't capture the departure gate info here either. FlightStats also doesn't have data for BKK either, annoyingly.


Even Qantas' own website doesn't know what gate QF24 departs from on any day!

My best guess though is gates E or F, based on where QF24 has departed in the past. This makes sense if you had to take a long walk to your Thai flight in A/B gates (if it was Domestic)

I flew out of BKK last night and QF24 was leaving from gate E6. Having had to walk to the E gates from the other side of the airport, I can attest that it's probably at least a few kilometres.
