I have a hopefully not stupid question:
I'll be flying soon on work's dollar, domestic SYD-PER. Our policy states for domestic that it's in Economy, specifically "lowest fare class" i.e. saver.
Given that it's a 5 hour flight, that I have some points to burn and that the A330 J product is so good, I'm wondering if I can (on my own dollar) fund a change fee + fare difference from the 'Saver' fare up to Flexi? (And then a points upgrade)
At present they're about $80 (sometimes less) more expensive. I would then use half price points to upgrade to J and assuming availability is there it'd be golden.
I was just wondering if you can change fare class (with fee) to another class on the same flight, or if there was something that'd stop that.
Hope this is clear, and hope it's a simple 'yes'. I may be able to sway the person booking the flights to book flexi (especially if it's cheaper than a QF saver fare), but it's not impossible.
Thanks in advance for the assistance!
