Hi - flying to Anchorage from LAX and Alaskan have got the best times and prices - I am an Alaskan member but wondered if I could credit the miles to my AA account - also can't quite work out whether as QF gold I can get a free bag or not otherwise its $25- I think I do - any comments?

Edit: DUH - just worked out if I had my AA number I can credit to them but still not sure about the baggage - it refers to AA status and not one world

Cheers

If you have no status with AS and the flight is not connecting to/from an international flight, you will have to pay the bag fee.

As a QF WP I also had to pay the bag fee with AA coded flight on AS metal, but at least this way I also received SC and points.

thanks - I can't seem to find this flight as an AA flight - only AS flight so therefore I can't get status credits so think I'll credit the miles to AA

That's odd, I'm pretty sure AA codeshare on LAX-ANC (see below)

I'm looking on 3rd September and I can't see the flight I want on AS website but I can on Skyscanner and it will let me click through and book it - not sure if I'm doing something wrong - may have another glass of wine and check it again in the morning
