Can I refer someone to an AMEX card I don't hold?

If you go into your online account(s) and look under rewards you will see what you can refer people to. It is a link only from the cards you have. If your friend is in a hurry, have a look at the referrals link to find someone else's link.

I don't think you can refer someone for an Edge card if you are only holding a Velocity Platinum. Good luck though.

You used to be able to do this via a lkittel quirk of the system, no more though.

I have tried this and no it does not work, even with follow-up calls/complaints.
