Can you double stack lounge access?

Howdy
Intending on travelling with folks and my direct family to Syd for a family event
On the way back, we'll be on the same flight.
I'm VA Gold, so can get my whole direct family in to the lounge.
I hold two amex platinums, a personal and a business. I'm the primary on both cards, any chance I can use both platinum cards to get my parents in to the lounge as my +1?

No guarantee this would work. Why not just get a complimentary Platinum supplementary card for one of your folks. They can use it to get into the lounge in both directions. (Virgin won’t be able to tell the card is supp not primary).

Oh does the plat card not get scanned / checked by Virgin?

Is it simply a present your card to confirm its a platinum type thing?

Just present the card. They check the name on the card matches the boarding pass and that’s it, in you go. There’s no scanning.
