Recently received an email from QFF regarding shopping for Christmas using points in which they have labelled certain goods as "For Her", "For Him".

Examples of such are
  • For Her; Kitchen Mixer,
  • For Him; Sound system.
Whilst highly amusing I'm not so sure it was meant to be funny.

Is this marketing indicative of a company trapped in the 1970's?

Would be interested in hearing other members views.

While they may not have had to label them, its no particular biggie in my eyes and probably still somewhat reflective of gender inclinations...

I find it very hard to get excited over kitchen appliances while i have several female friends i rib about how they wax lyrical over $2000 or so thermo mixes that they have bought and then attend get togethers about them...

But each to their own...

I bought my wife a Kitchen Aid mixer for monther's day one year - she was very pleased with it. My wife buys me scuba gear - there are gender distinctions still.

Are gender distinctions ever going to go away? I certainly hope not and I am not one for taking turns either. Don't ask me to iron your skirts or blouses as they will have holes all over them and if you want to eat my cooking it will be cooked that only way I know how to cook. The way I like it.

I can cook and take care of myself but I don't want/need a pot or frying pan where as my wife is going to need it more than me.

The golf clubs will be for me and not for her. ;)
