I'm flying from Sydney to the Gold Coast tomorrow morning. I didn't buy my ticket and am flying Jetstar. I do have an Amex Business Platinum Charge and a Velocity High Flyer Card, both of which are meant to get me access to the lounge. Only base status with Virgin...

My question is if they always check boarding passes or can you flash your card and stroll in? Not a big deal either way...

Hi Nooks! I traveled with Virgin 2 weeks ago and used the lounge with my Platinum Charge. Even though there was a long queue, the attendant scanned both boarding passes to verify they were were valid for flights that day.

Thanks, I thought that would be the case, but am new to all this and haven't ever been before. I am flying to Fiji in a couple of weeks so can test out the Amex Lounge and with Virgin in October to Perth so will be able to use it then as well.

You wont get entry if flying Jetstar, regardless of Amex Plat card or not. Access with this card is only valid if flying Virgin.
