I've got my TG flight but not the CBR-SYD flight. I'm wondering if either QANTAS or Virgin will check my baggage through to BKOK and provide boarding passes at CBR airport?
I'd also like to understand how to find this info for future travels
Thanks

Pretty sure QF will not.... certainly not on separate tickets.

Virgin (DJ)? I don't know.... One can always ask to have them checked right through but you have to be ready to be told no...

That's for the check-through.... You will not get the BP's in Canberra even if the bags are checked through.

I just flew CBR-BNE and am off to SIN tonight... on DJ and SQ...all on one ticket... and I had to get the SQ BP's here in BNE...

If its the one ticket, then bags can most likely be checked through. But I would not expect to be getting your boarding pass until you reach the international terminal.

QF will only check your bags through to BKK on TG if both the QF & TG flights are on the same booking. If that was the case your bags would be checked through to BKK but you would need to collect your boarding passes in SYD once you get around to the international terminal as TG don't have an IATCI agreement with QF.

In this case you are able to use the complimentary QF shuttle bus from gate 1 at domestic which will take you to the international terminal.

If the QF & TG flights are on separate tickets you will need to collect your bags in SYD then take either the air train or the Tbus around to the international terminal & check in with TG. You cannot use the QF airside shuttle bus if picking up luggage in SYD. Allow plenty of time to do this eg 3 hours from your ETA into SYD until your ETD to BKK.

The only time QF will check bags through to other flights when on separate bookings is when those airlines are members of One World.
