I've made a boo-boo...

I booked a non refundable rate at Surfers Paradise a week or so ago for one night, the rate was great and anyone who knows the property is aware of how much unusually higher the flexible rates are at SP..

Anyway, something completely unforeseen has come up, and I definitely cannot make it.. (Which seems like a blessing as it turns out to be schoolies time)
I know its a long shot, and non refundable rates are just that...But I've never had this happen.

Do you think I've got any chance of having the room cancelled? No transaction has been debited from my credit card yet, although I'm sure its not far off.:oops:
Am only HH Gold so have no diamond line to assist....

You can only ring and ask.
Maybe if they can get a higher price for the room you might get lucky.

From memory straitman was able to move a similar type of booking to another date at another Hilton property in Australia.

Ask them nicely and you never know.

*Prays* As I will need to be at HSYD that night instead...

I have had success with this by ringing the property directly. I didn't ask for the booking to be canceled but asked for it to be changed to a different date. Always been successful.

Just a little status report. Had a call back from the Duty Manager who cancelled the booking without issue, payment hadn't been taken off my card yet so there was no issue.

There's a reason to stay loyal to Hilton...
