I'm trying to book a Multi City trip to the USA but once I select "multi city" it says the destinations don't exist, even though they do if I try to do a one way or return trip from them.

Anyone else having this issue?

If I recall correctly that's always been an issue with the Virgin Australia website.
You need to use a travel agent or call.

Interesting, I've never ever had this happen before. Each time we travel to the USA we enter and exit from different cities so always used the Multi City option.

Just trying to book normal economy
I found pricing and OUCH it’s almost $2000 return
No way at that pricing
Supply and demand. Plus record fuel prices. Think 2 k is pretty reasonable to go half way around the world and back. Remember the amount of taxes and govt charges in that. The airline is really getting sweet fa of that

Yeah I’m not paying that
A month ago it was $1200 before the velocity announcement
I should have booked then but wasn’t sure if SC and points would apply to a booking done before the official announcement.
I’ll give it until July and if they don’t come down I’ll go to Japan instead

The price increase would have nothing to do with the VA announcement. Costs have gone up significantly and they obviously feel they can get $2k for the flights. If loads are low they may have to reconsider

Air Canada are $1200

I am reminded here for some reason, of the photo of the Young Man who waited for the price of Real Estate to come down ......

I had the same issue as well. My partner could not decide which cities last night and boom the price increase this morning.

Playing a very dangerous game hoping flight prices will go down - my experience tells me 99% of the time they only go one way as your date gets closer.

I'd be locking in $1200 - it's a pretty good price. I can see plenty of United flights for that price but obviously your dates no longer have that fare bucket.

You aren't going to be getting any bargains to the USA under 1k in 2022.

Spot on. Take the good deal with AC while you have the option.

Having said that, where are you trying to head to require the multi-city??

I know this thread is older, but I ended up getting United flights for around $1200 by waiting a bit.
I still can't even look at Multi-City bookings on the VA website - it's extremely frustrating.

I'm trying to book a trip for 2023 now, going Sydney - Los Angeles - Vancouver - Sydney but can't load anything - I'd like to use Points but can't do anything on the Multi City booking page.
I don't want to call - I just want to find out how many points I need.
Why can't they fix this??

They do say partner international flights can't be booked on their (VA's) website as if now though.
Have to book on the partner airlines website and provide VFF # in the booking process.
Have you tried the VA call centre/center?
((Ah, just saw you don't want to call them,)).
Online most likely as you saw, it's a no (can't do, my impression anyway).

When I first traveled Sydney to LAX it was $1200 and that was May 1991!

If for a holiday, life is short I'd pay the $2K and if the budget is tight save somewhere else or just go for a lessor period.

I hate to say it, you'll end up not going anywhere if $800 is a show stopper amount.

Good luck, look at UA they have some good fares.

I got fares for $1200 by waiting a little bit. Going in November.
