Couldn't find a cheaper car hire so sucked it up! Saved us a lot of $$$$ in the end...it would have cost our party of 4 $99 each for a sunrise tour and similar for a sunset tour!! We did 3 sunset trips, 2 sunrise trips, a drive to Uluru for a base walk and to Kata Tjuta by ourselves...100 km to Kata Tjuta return from our accommodation in Yulara!..all up only did 240km (well within 300 km total) including from / to airport. Even though fuel was $2.89 /L, it only cost $38+ to top up fuel tank...unless you want to contribute $$$$ to AAT Kings, a hire car is essential at Uluru / Ayers Rock even though it is expensive. 3 day Park pass is $38 per personLooking at booking a car at Uluru airport in May for 3 dsys....cheapest I could find is $200 per day with 100kms for free. Any tips to get something cheaper? Thanks
