I'm looking to hire a car for a day in Denmark in September and am "amazed" at the prices being asked for a one-day hire.

For a small manual car, eg Polo I've found.....

  • Expedia.com.au AUD 103 (Enterprise)
  • Hertz 578 DKK = AUD116
  • Economy Car Rentals AUD 98

By way of comparison with LAX or even Munich:
  • Economy Car Rentals AUD 46 (LAX)
  • Economy Car Rentals AUD 44 (MUC)

Is Denmark really that expensive (I thought Switzerland was bad  !)

Scandinavians think Switzerland is a relatively cheap place. :)

Aah yes, you're right - actually, come to think of it, we met some Norwegian mountain climbers near the Matterhorn and they thought Switzerland was reasonably priced.

We've never been that far north in EU before. Oh well, "it is what it is."
