So book via rentalcars.com and get small manual for Frankfurt.
Use travel insurance policy to cover car hire insurance. Credit card will be charged holding fee..... How much?
Which car hire company to look at hiring car from Frankfurt-Frankfurt 2 weeks?
Better to pickup airport and drop off or is there a better option?

Looked at www.renaulteurodrive.com.au....seems to include all required but far from cheap....$2K+

Looking on rentalcars.com it mentions roadside assist as an Extra required?
Anyone experience renting car in Germany?

There has been a fair bit of discussion about rental cars from Frankfurt on a TripAdvisor forum and it may be worth looking at that. Some points that I got from that discussion are that the car return at Frankfurt is done by an independent company that seem to have an incentive to find damage (which is then very expensive); car hire companies will not accept credit card insurance and will require you to buy insurance with them; some have extra charges (such as the road service you mentioned).

In short, it seems that their systems are quite different from those in Australia so you may want to look into it. In particular, they seem to be very hard on damage.

We are planning to hire and return a car from Frankfurt later in 2018 so I would be interested in how you get on. I suspect that we will try to get insurance to reduce the excess to nil so that if there is any damage we will not have to pay anything.

My experience with Renault Eurodrive (about 10 years ago) was very good but I thought that you needed to rent for a long period (4 weeks or more) for it to be economical - but I might be wrong or it might have changed.

Gone rentalcar.com with their full protection..... Will be stung $1500 EURO hold on credit card...... Have travel insurance excess aswell..... But the kicker is excess does not cover loss of income from car being damaged off/road hence the full protection covers this..... Gone Hyundai i30 or similar.
In the fortunate position that have money to sit around and will be replaced by rental cars.com if car damaged.
Told 25 euro for cross boarder driving a time......
Euro Renault recommended by frequent user that gets them a discount.... Otherwise bloody expensive!
