Car Hire in Brisbane over Christmas - Recommendations

Hi Everyone,
We are going to be in Brisbane over Christmas 23/12 -26/12, when looking at Cars through the Qantas site, the minimum was around the $650 for a tiny car.....WOW.. so expensive for 3 days,

Would anyone have any recommendations for better prices, I have the Qantas Amex ultimate card but I don't think that provides any car hire discounts.
