Car hire South Island NZ and Insurance ANZ platinum card

Hello,

I want to hire a car like today cos leaving tomorow for Christchurch. I have an ANZ platinum card. Is it better to take the car insurance offerd by the CAR HIRE CO or rely on my ANZ card

Also anyone hired in South island if you recommend a car rental pls let me know

I have used the normal (Hertz, Avis etc) rental Coy's they are at the airport and no hassles. There are plenty of others try www.yellowpages.co.nz and search. A few phone calls will get what you need and delivered to the airport. I have used Rhoades, Jucy seem popular in the minivan market. As you have not said what or for how long try above.

I also use the Visa insurance to pay for the excess but always take out the normal rental car insurance as standard and have a high $3000 excess. I have never had to claim though.

Hope that helps. Driving is pretty easy just remember its left hand give way not right. Give way to everything if your turning left. The opposite to Oz
