Anyone successfully lodge and claim for Card Refund Cover for a camera.
The Australian retailer refused to accept the goods due to change of mind.
It is an unopened box.

Probably.

Is there a question in this?
Presumably the OP wants to know if the refund cover will apply to an item where there’s been a change of mind, and the retailer won’t accept the goods purely for change of mind.

That is, can the OP claim the price back under the AMEX refund cover?

Have never tried.

But if its within 90 days and otherwise meets the T&Cs, I can’t see why it wouldn’t be successful as this is the entire purpose of that aspect of the insurance - to return for change of mind when the retailer doesn’t offer it.

Lodge a claim with Chubb and let us know how you go.

I've done it once before with a clothing change of mind where the shop's own change of mind time limit had passed. Just lodge a claim and see if they approve it and give you an address to send the camera back to.

It’s a feature of the Amex platinum card - it has its own T&C as referred to up thread but it’s very useful if the merchant won’t take it back. You still will be out of pocket the excess but it’s much better than the whole item. I hope you bought it on this card. I don’t think another card offers this feature.

It will work even if it's been lightly used, my own experience is a just-plugged-in tested PC power supply ~$450. My case was about the change of mind allowed but with a 15-20% restocking fee.
