Hi experts , We have a booking from MEL --> HND return in economy class but was looking at the options of miles upgrade. As there is no availability , looking at upgrading my Singapore Airlines flight with cash. Is that even possible and should I call them or do it online for better availability. Thanks for your time.

Try the mySQupgrade service - put in your PNR and last name at T-72 and it'll inform you if there's availability for upgrades and the price of that.
Good luck - and let us know how you go!

Thanks for the suggestion. However our flights are for Apr 2025 , hence will need to wait for few months before I could do that.

Ah right. Yeah then best wait for 3 days before your flight, jump onto that website and cross your fingers!
When you say April 2025, is it early April (aka during School Holidays)? If so, then chances are slim unfortunately - the J cabin would be full well before then I'd imagine.

You can just pay cash at any time and usually there no upgrade fee.
Can also pay cash at checkin, though it’s often as,
Or more, expensive than booking outright

But how do you get to this option, where you pay cash for an upgrade? mySQupgrade only allows "log-in" within 72 hours from departure.

I used to call up the contact centre for doing these between SIN and short-medium haul regional ports. This said, you should be able to do it through SQ Manage Booking as well, including paying the fare difference. Noting you can't do this for multi-city bookings (transit should be ok), or when you have an Economy Lite fare.

Cheers,
Matt.

Which option? Anytime- just call them up and tell them you want to change your fare to business.
