Amount of cashback varies on the type of flight. Party is over though, this deal ended a while ago, now back to 1%. Upsized Cashback offers don't go for long.

I've actually seen them up to 10% in the past year -- was confused about 'short haul' and 'long haul'

I wonder what they classify as being short haul - overseas short haul perhaps?

You'd think they'd give a higher % back for long haul bookings to encourage overseas travel these days.

Short haul in this context refers to routes like Oz to Bali, NZ, South Pacific, doesn't it? Less than 5hrs.

They generally stack with Virgin offers also. Prior pandemic, I nabbed that triple points offer on a PE fare to LAX. Cashrewards also had a offer I got $270 back on a $3k fare.
