I'm sitting in the MEL DJ lounge (along with the Hawthorn football team, who are just off to board their LST flight) waiting for my 1310 departure to ADL. Unfortunately this has turned into a 1415 departure (at this stage). Flying in J.

Is a 1310 departure a 'lunch' flight? And if so, does the lunch carry over to the delayed departure? Reason given for delay is late inbound.

I didn't specifically select the flight for lunch but am curious on both the above points.

Thanks.

I'm not sure of the exact answer there is a thread on DJ meal times somewhere. IIRC 13:10 is within lunch. Not sure what happens with a delay. But I'd guess you get lunch as the planning process for meals would have been well underway before the delay was known.

Re: Catering question

I thought it was based on scheduled departure time. However, there may be an easy way to find out. Get up, walk over to the service desk, ask them and report back what they say. :)

Re: Catering question

Cheers. I may wait till I get on board and see what actually eventuates (and report back). :)

Re: Catering question

Flight got away after 1430. Lunch was served. Warm bread roll, Coq-au-Vin, Lemon meringue type tart. All satisfactory, if not exciting. :)

Coq au vin: made me burst out laughing as i have just this week watched on Qantas to Hobart an episode of Come Fly with Me when the little Irish flight attendant remarks to his fellow flight attendant when they're serving coq au vin 'yeah I had coq au van last night in the back of my mate's transit!'. Very clever. http://24.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m47pehI9BR1rsv4bbo5_r1_1280.jpg
