In Summary, from 17 February 2020, The Bridge (Gate 35), The Deck (Gate 6) & The Pier First Class Lounge (Gate 63) will be close.

Also, only individually packaged food will be available (No Buffets I presume).

Adjustments to lounge services in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Beijing

Latest update: 13 Feb 2020 21:45 HKT (GMT+8)
Starting from 17 February 2020, we will be temporarily closing three of our lounges at Hong Kong International Airport until further notice:
  • The Bridge (Gate 35)
  • The Deck (Gate 6)
  • The Pier First Class Lounge (Gate 63)
Passengers are welcome to visit our other lounges, which remain open with no changes in operation hours at Hong Kong International Airport:
We are also taking additional precautions by temporarily modifying the dining options at our airport lounges in Hong Kong, Shanghai Pudong, and Beijing, to comprise individually packaged food options, and made-to-order hot food from the Noodle Bar.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding.

There will be some very unhappy people re Pier F. But it is a reasonable decision given how many flights have been cancelled.

..does that mean other lounges at HKG will be without Pier peer 😉 😂😂😂

Sorry wrong thread 😁

Not. happy. Jan. No F'ing pier.

I will have to focus on the word 'temporarily' and pier into the future.

Actually I think that's taking CX's offering back to what it was when Chek Lap Kok first opened. Seemed bloody marvellous then...

cheers skip

Yeah the whole CX thing is terrible. I only recently worked out that SIN-LHR via HK is a much more pleasant option for me than the SQ SIN-LHR direct. The fares are much cheaper, the timings work better, AA lounge on arrival, nice CX Pier lounge in HK for a shower, individual legs are shorter - I hate the monotony of 14 hours - and bonus I can credit to AS and get lots of miles and status. Oh well back to SQ.

Currently I am in the very excellent Pier J lounge. Prior to cathing the train here I had lunch at The Wing F.
Bothe seem quite empty.

I have only been to HK once before, roughly four years ago and from memory the whole place was much busier.

Again not being familiar it may just be a quiet time of day.
Arriving at the check in and immigration and security around 1300 one could have fired a gun off. There were staff almost begging us to come to their gate.
The in town check in and train were almost deserted.

Photo of people lined up in town for masks attached....

I had a better one but it must be too many gigabytes.
Several hundred in the line however....

you cannot win isn't it ?

In normal time you usually cannot get the foot massage in Pier F because the queue is over 5 hours.

now you think the queue will be shorter and they close pier F lounge...

In normal times I usually go to pier F as I like that lounge more.
everytime I ask for Cabana @ the Wing, I cannot get it and the ETA is unknown.

Now, I am not even sure if I want to use the Cabana, even if it is available !

Any long wait for cabana?
