Good Evening, everyone! I am hoping this is in the right place- if not, sorry admins, please remove! I am traveling HK-Frankfurt next week and during a four hour stopover in HK airport, I plan to use the first lounge (flying in 1st to Frankfurt). A friend who is also flying Cathay will be at the airport at the same time with a similar layover, but to London instead. Am I able to take them into the lounge as my guest when we aren't on the same flight? Anyone have insight on this one?

thanks!

Are you getting admission by status or class of travel?

Not sure if it makes a difference but there are people here who will know whether or not admission will be allowed.

Thanks all- My concern is more whether my friend can have access if she's on a different cathay flight- Can I have her as a guest even though we're departing on two different cathay flights?

Their website is silent on the requirements for a guest for a passenger in F on a CX flight.
For a passenger who has the right to bring a guest into the F lounge on any other basis, the site states they must either be travelling "with" the passenger on the same flight if not the same booking, or, in the case of access granted to a OWE pax, on a oneworld flight.
By implication you might assume those qualifications don't apply to a guest of a CX F pax.
But I wouldn't assume.
Call them.

Call them.

... AND take a hardcopy of the lounge admittance rules with you. Lounge agents often don't know the rules - if they say 'no' initially, showing them the printed word might at least allow them to do you a 'favour'.

For FWIW, they don't normally scan / check the boarding passes of the guest who is going through (I go in on OWE class of access).

Once you show and they collect the lounge invite pass, they normally just wave you through with your guest (this is an advantage of having those archaic paper invites).

But of course, it will be good to have an official "fall-back" if challenged.

If guesting the guests BP is scanned with the lead pax's invite. Usually both BPs stamped for reentry at F lounges unless that changed recently.

Having had a quick glance at the internal policy for the lounges, you're certainly allowed to take a guest, and there is no mention of any criteria the guest needs to meet. You should be absolutely fine.
A fallback position is that as a oneworld FCL entering a oneworld F lounge, your guest must be also travelling oneworld, so under those rules you can also take your guest in.
