I wouldn't call these huge bargains, but they are a decent amount cheaper than usual J fares (Circa $2000 off full price).

Most are valid 17Nov08-28Feb09, but need to be issued on or before 22 Dec.

Note also the $485 cancel fee.

Some of the economy fares look good but the earning rate is only 0.5 FF points with QFF and is ~3-4 times less FF points than a QF fare for the same routes.

I hope I'm not taking this thread off-topic but has anyone had experience with booking Cathay flights in Hong Kong at the last minute? That is, do they have standby fares or do they offer heavily discounted tickets for last minute sales? I'm trying to get HKG-MNL-HKG around 11/1/09 and 31/1/09 but all I can get is around $460.
