I booked 3 tickets on Wednesday night, had to do them with 2 booking numbers because one passenger is staying a few more days. I saw that Cathay offer a price promise similar to Qantas. Incidentally, I was successful doing this with Qantas once so I thought I would give it a try. The price was about $100 cheaper per ticket on Best price travel but since I never heard of them, I was not keen to buy from them given recent issues with otas going broke. They say they will get back to me within 3 business days but here it is, a week later and haven't heard anything. I sent an email saying that I was waiting to hear back and they wrote to me saying it could take up to two weeks for them to look at my claim. This is a worry, since there is no way that I can expect the price to stay the same on that website for two weeks. Has anyone had any experience with this? I tried to search this forum but couldn't find any discussion. I was very careful to follow all their instructions such as showing a screenshot with the date and time but their lack of even an automated response saying they received the claim does not seem to bode well.

update; 13 days after submitting my request I got this response:

Sorry for the delay in handling your request due the large number of request we receive.

Thank you for submitting your claim on the Cathay Pacific Price Promise. I have verified the details and are pleased to confirm we will be refunding you the fare difference of total AUD315.87
This amount will be refunded to you via the same payment method you used to purchase the flight on www.cathaypacific.com/au, and this process can take approximately 14 days to reach you depending upon your bank’s processing time.

Thank you for booking on www.cathaypacific.com/au and we look forward to welcoming you on board.

Regards
Andrew
Price Promise Team.

Pretty happy with that result. I thought it would get rejected
