CBR mini Dinner - 25th August

This was posted on Flyer Talk and with permission of the organisers I have posted it here.

SQ421, *A Flyer and lowjhg are planning to catch up over a few beers followed by Dinner on Saturday 25th August.

Dinner will likely be at Blu Ginger Indian Restaurant, the same establishment that hosted the OzFest kickoff dinner earlier this year. If you have any alternate suggestions, feel free to add them here.

If anyone happens to be in Canberra, or is considering driving/flying down to catch up, shoot me a PM or post in this thread.

If need be, I'll call ahead and book a table later this week or early next.

This is a great opportunity to meet your fellow Canberra based frequent flyers. I've noticed there have been quite a few CBR new members posting here, so come along and have a great time talking about flights, points etc. Or even just meeting like minded people and enjoying a great meal.

Blu Ginger is nice; and awards QFFs. They do BYO and there is a terrific bottle shop diagonally opposite on Bunda St. You could kick on afterwards to Tongue and Groove next door for a couple of cleasing ales or other. It's busy and noisy though. Bring your Winter wear. Still very cold on my trips to the Berra!

The [honestly] small quantity of wine I ordered from the Waipara Valley last week arrived in Melbourne today. Some of those cool climate aromatic fruits would go down a treat with Indian.

How many bottles can I fit into hand carry?

I've taken half a dozen bottles of wine as carry on. That should be plenty for dinner as I won't be there

(unfortunately I will need to send my apologies as I won't be in CBR that weekend).

I'm looking forward to it. I had a great time at the AFF alternate Sydney Lunch last Sunday.

Traveling back from Brisbane so not going to make this one. May change to an earlier flight if some of my plans in Brisbane change for the Sat.

I've done as many as 12 before. Thank goodness QF don't weigh carry ons.

Well there were five of us there last night and we had good food and conversation.

I still get back to CBR about one weekend a month to say hello to my house and friends, but alas I couldn't make it down this weekend.
