After getting into the FF game in June this year, I've managed to rack up 100,000+ pts just via sign on bonuses.

Everyday rewards mastercard - 16,000 bonus points ($89 fee)

Qantas Amex Discovery - 10,000 bonus points (no annual fee)

Qantas Amex Premium - 20,000 bonus points ($149 fee)

CitiBusiness Gold - 40,000 bonus points ($149 fee)

ANZ Frequent Flier - 10,000 bonus points (free)

Westpac Earth - 16,000 ($75 fee) (still waiting!)

How did the rest of you go?

Umm I didn't go anywhere because I didn't sign up for any cards...

... I'm curious what you (or anyone in a similar situation) will do with them?!

Buy a new wallet I would have thought, and not expect any largish loans to be approved for a while!

Haven't canceled cards with fees except for EDR which didn't refund pro rata

Why would you cancel a point a dollar credit card with that EDR MasterCard?
Is that because you do better with Citi Business or was your card wallet too small?
2012 is looming as a very tough year in banking due to job cuts in the market place and loans from banks will be harder to get. Time to keep your head down, pay on time and save as we head into an era of austerity.

I did get 30,000 points from Amex Platinum Velocity and a free BankWest Platinum this year. In the US I got 30,000 on a US Amex Gold card and the rest of the points in Australia came from bill paying rather than bonuses.

I get 1.25 pts with my citi card. Plus I have an issue with woolworths as an organization, but that's another story!

I've only had an application rejected once. Virgin sent me a prefilled application when i was 17 and all i had to do was sign and send back. So i did. And they rejected it. maybe thats why i've never been much of a virgin fan. (see scarred for life)

i don't use my creditcards like a creditcards. I usually pay them off before i get the statement.

Majority have low credit limits. 2k.

EDR - 16k points - $89
ANZ Visa/Amex - 20k points - $95 (got this back)
ANZ Plat Visa/Amex - 20k - $295
ANZ Visa/Amex (hoping to get 10k points not received yet) - Free
Westpac Earth - 16k (not received yet) - $75

So since June boni earnt on acquiring CC...

To me:

25K for Plat Edge $99
40K for Citibusiness $149
40K referral bonus for Amex Plat
2K for new Sup Holder
Total 105 K

To wife:
60K for CitiPlat $125
40K for CitiBusiness $149
80K for Amex Plat $ 900
Total 180K

TOTAL: 285K for $1424 (includes one flight MEL Cairns or NZ and one say MEL Syd, with enough points for 2 J returns to Europe :D)

I must admit that after the last few years of Points-Running that it will come as a rude shock if I eventually have to pay full fare for an International Flight again!!!!!!!

Since joining up to AFF in February I have learnt a lot! I have gone from zero QF points to about 180,000 with a mixture of flying, credit card spend and bonuses. Below are points that I have 'bought' through bonuses in 2011.

Citibank: 60000 $299
OnePath: 60000 $196.76
ANZ: 10000 $0.00
Westpac: 16000 $75.00

146000 points for $570.76 coming out at 0.39 cents per point which I am really happy with. Anything less than 0.5 cents a point suits me just fine.

All the above has been with QF, it might also be time to start investigating Virgin options too.

For 2011, I was approved for:
AMEX Platinum Charge Card - 75,000 MR Points @ $900
AMEX Platinum Reserve Credit Card - (included)
AMEX BMW Gold Credit Card - 10,000 @ $0
ANZ Frequent Flyer - 21,000 QFF @ $
ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum - 32,000 QFF @ $
Westpac Earth - 16,000 QFF @ $75
Citibank Platinum - 50,000 QFF @ $299
Citibank CitiBusiness Gold - 40,000 QFF @ $150
28 degrees MasterCard - Fee free for international transactions
Virgin Flyer Card - Free flight + 4 x 2for1 @ $95
Virgin Flyer Card - 50,000 points + 200SC @ $

The other half also took out:
AMEX Platinum Charge Card - 75,000 MR Points @ $900
ANZ Frequent Flyer Platinum - 32,000 QFF @ $
Citibank Platinum - 50,000 QFF @ $299
ANZ Frequent Flyer - 16,000 QFF @ $0
Virgin Flyer Card - Free flight + 4 x 2for1 @ $95

My Woolworths Everyday Rewards MasterCard application was in 2010, but I got them to waive the $95 annual fee.

2012 won't be as generous, with Amex now 'upgrading' me to Centurion, Woolworths being stingy with their Everyday Rewards signup bonus, and I'm thinking about applying for a loan.

Thats a LOT of Credit. Hope your not looking to buy a house in the near future. :D
