We have recently joined AC aeroplan. We have existing AC fight bookings (paid with cash) and entered SQ KF numbers. Now we would like to change SQ KF numbers to AC aeroplan numbers for those AC flights. We have not been able to do this from AC login. Instead, the advice from the net is to ask staff at checkin counter to make the change before issuing boarding passes. Is this the best approach? [For oneworld partners, we have always been able to change FF numbers via finnair].

Tried Air Dolomiti but it could not find the AC booking reference. So will ask at check-in.

update: we have completed our RTW with TK and successfully changed FF number from SQ to AC when we checked in at counter for the relevant flights.

Q: how long does it take AC to update their FF to show points earned? It has been a week for our AC flights YYZ - YVR - SYD but nothing posted to date!

Did the flights show up at SQ instead? Airport staff are known to mess up FF number changes... so it's always possible it still went to SQ despite the request at check in.

Thanks, madrooster. I checked SQ and points not posted there. The boarding passes showed aeroplan but nothing posted for a week now. I will wait a few more days, and maybe email or tel AC - I have kept (paper) boarding passes.

I've found the easiest way to do it is to call Air Canada, it's usually pretty quick over the phone

Decided to lodge an online claim via AC website for missing points. They got posted immediately. Both hubby and I are now 25K AC members - which is 'nothing'! We earned 25K from flying RTW J with TK using TK and AC flights.
