Change International Qantas Frequent Flyer Point trip

Just found out some bad news about my partner. May need to re-schedule 6 week o/s trip booked on Frequent Flyer Points for next April. Does anyone know if this is possible and/or have any advice?

Award flights are generally changeable/cancellable for a 5000 pt/person penalty.

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your loss. I think you should try and explain your situation to QF and generally I have found QF much more accommodating than other airlines. For example a few years ago when my Dad needed to see his dad urgently, they released an award seat in J pretty much instantly. Try calling during business hours so you can talk to a supervisor/someone more senior who tend to be most able to bend the rules for unfortunate circumstances.

Sorry about your bad news.

As the others have said you should be able to reschedule and Qantas may also some compassion and waive the change penalty. Try calling back a few times if you do not succeed the first time.
