QF has just changed the metal for our HKG-SYD flight next May from A380 to B767. (I assume it has to do with metal needs to fit the new EK arrangements.)

It's a night flight (20.05 to 07.20) so of course we were looking forward to getting some sleep in the flat beds in the 380 pods (we're travelling J). But flat beds in a geriatric 76?

My second assumption is that I have no comeback. We just have to cop it.

Any thoughts?

Had a look at QF128 for every day in May and it is either A380 or 747, can't see a 767 in there. What date are you flying?

I can see a 747 on the 1st May, and 8th May, otherwise 380 other days..No 767.

I highly doubt a 767 would be going to HKG.

The only time I have seen the 767's doing intl runs apart from HNL and NRT (PER) was when QF had the 380 issues, meaning they needed the 330's elsewhere.
I would check it again.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. It's 23 May and it's QF128 -- and I've just had another look and yes, it's changed back to a 380!

I suspect grievous user error.

My apologies for wasting members' time.

No enquiry is a waste of time - it is at worst an opportunity to race to be the first to correct the OP :p

The question will remain whether you get a 744 with A380 seats or a 744 with sloping flat beds and some old F seats.

Might not be doing HKG these days, but my first QF HKG-MEL back in 1990 was a 767. And it wasn't that long ago that 767s were the standard bus to/from MNL.

It was not long ago that they did the PER-HKG-BNE turnaround, and I have spent many a TPE-SYD flight on one.

13 years ago I flew one HKG-ADL in 3A.

I thought back then the Dreamtime seat was it.

Your looking at around 2007-2008 from memory the change to a 330 on that run (PER-HKG). I know that I was on QPA back from HKG in Feb 09 just after she had been out back into service.

They still are the (sub)standard to HNL...

I don't think there are any arguments there.
Interestingly enough their J seat has the most pitch of any of the carriers flying that route direct.

I would not be surprised if we see the 767 back in to Asia, AJ has committed to increasing Asian frequencies and with A330s now becoming more prevalent on the trans con legs, it almost makes sense!
