This morning I was due to fly SFO-ORD-FRA on AA, however the SFO-ORD flight was canceled due to a storm in SFO. AA booked me onto a direct SFO-FRA flight this afternoon on UA, which I certainly appreciate as that means I wont miss train connections from FRA!
I assume however that the SCs and FF points I would have earned on AA will no longer be credited as its now a UA flight which is not a OW carrier?
No big deal I suppose but I thought I'd ask anyway in case any of you have been in a similar situation.
cheers

As long as you have your documentation (Boarding passes and copy of your original itinerary), give Qantas a call and tell them that you were involuntarily re-routed onto UA and could they please post the correct SC's. This tends to be known as "Original Routing Credit",but not 100% sure the call centre person at Qantas would understand that term.

You may be requested to email/fax/send Qantas the documentation mentioned above.

As Mal mentioned do not worry.

I have been moved onto non-Oneworld airlines in the past and have put in a claim to QFF (via the feedback form on their website) for the SCs and QFF points and then sent them original itinerary and the boarding pass for the flights flown and have always been given original routing credit.

And if you are a member of a star alliance program you might even be able to "double dip" as well (it has been know to happen in these situations:!:), but I wouldn't even try that until QF points and status credits are happily sitting in the account.

Just an update, the SCs and FF points were credited within 24 hrs of sending an email with all docs attached, I finally got around to doing that this week. Thanks all! :)
