Greetings All and Happy Aus Day
contemplating a booking to get back to LHR and I have noticed there are a number of well priced "any seat award" point bookings for about 12 months time (144131 points per seat) for "Business" not "Business saver" . Just wondering if these are booked what happens if the departure date needs to be changed?
Do you
1- just change the date(possible fee) as with a normal ticket:)
2-have to see if there is availability at that purchase point price(ie 144131pionts) on the day you want to travel ,and have to cough up the difference or cancel if the new point price is too great!:(
Really not sure of the rules and would love some guidance!
Thanks in advance

I've changed a few Dom JASAs this year, and AFAIK, this is the deal:

You can change at any time with no fee, but you have to pay any difference in points required for the new fare, the default option being to pay with dollars, which always seems to work out to be very expensive. I don't think it matters whether it's a time change (on the same day) or a change of date - the point is that it'll cost you if the points required for the new flight exceed those originally required.

That is consistent with the point that ASAs are treated as basically having the same conditions as the equivalent paid class.

As for a refund, I haven't checked whether or not Qantas can charge the 5,000 point fee they charge for classic award cancellations, but I think there is a thread on here somewhere which covers that. My instinct is that the 5,000 point fee wouldn't apply for a JASAS cancellation.

Thanks for that
I just thought it may be related to the booking class code not the points charged but obviously not
Thanks anyway. Best I choose the correct date
