Changi Airport Terminal 2 SATS Lounge

At present, I am at Changi Airport in the SATS lounge Terminal 2. We are flying Etihad to AUH and my husband has gold status with VA.


At check in, when shown the gold VA card, the check in agent went and conversed with others, came back, filled in a form and then stated that we could use the MH lounge. I thought that this would probably be better than the SATS lounge so I was rather pleased.


We could not find the MH lounge per se as they were using the SATS lounge.


My initial thought, small lounge compared to other lounges that I had been fortunate enough to use. A variety of hot food but nothing to write home about. Warm drinks from the fridge AND no champs! Three choices of spirits, Johnny red label, gin and vodka. No real oj'.


Husband decided that he needed to use the facilities and found that someone or others had peed on the floor and left a mess. He reported it to the front of staff, who organised for it to be cleaned up. Husband now walking around in squeaky runners on the tiles!


I wanted to have a shower, after walking around Singapore in the heat and humidity, to find that it would have to be a cold one! Shower amenities leave a lot to be desired- no bath mat, face washer, lotion or toothbrush. Toilet door also wouldn't lock.


My husband has just come back from his shower gloating that the water was steaming hot and that he had to turn it down!!


They are all my gripes for the moment.

Was recently in the same lounge, nothing to write home about but better than waiting in the terminal (IMHO). The space in current use is where the MH lounge used to be before they shut it down a year or two ago. The previous SATS lounge space you would have noticed on your right as you entered the current one - boarded up with a message that they are upgrading/revamping etc.

Also was in the same lounge a few weeks ago. Was really looking forward to taking a shower, but the state was gross. Just drank a bottle of wine to make me forget about showering.

had a look at the SATs lounge in T3 last week and stayed about 5 minutes, looked like a boarding gate (construction happening I think).

probably worthwhile looking at the ambassador lounges over SATs if possible as generally the cleanliness standards are higher and they are less crowded than SATs as they're not used by many airlines.
