Hi

Just wondering if this is possible.
Two people on the same reward booking say Europe-Australia-Europe. They've both made the journey to Australia, and were both scheduled to fly home on the same flight. Is it possible to change/reschedule the return flight (if dates available) for just one of them, without affecting the return date of the other person?
Thanks
LP

It is probably best to telephone the airline through whom the reservation was made as 2 things have to happen:

(1) Reservation has to be "split"; and

(2) A flight date has to be changed.

Out of curiosity please let us know what airline and how you go changing - ie whether they let you and what the charge is, if any,

Re Vaustralia/Velocity, I booked Mel-LAX return with points for next January's trip and paid cash for the taxes. To postpone the return date by a week, they want $250 a seat. What's QFF's etc's change fee?

It's Qantas. The tickets are for around Christmas time, and availability is less and less by the day, so we need to book soon. I could book them on two separate tickets, but then they might not sit together, etc.
The reason for splitting, is that in a month or two, we may find out that one of them has to go back early, or can stay longer, or may not come altogether.

Just be aware that if it's a Qantas FF award, once travel has commenced, only date/time changes are allowed.

For example, if it's a return ticket from Australia to London via Singapore, you can't change the return to come via Bangkok or with a different carrier. Just be aware as this further limits availability when making changes.

You can reduce exposure to this by booking LHR-SYD (or LHR-MEL), then you have the option of choosing via BKK/SIN (or HKG/SIN) if availability dictates.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
