Wasn't sure if this was the correct place to post it so feel free to move it!

I'm flying on QF3 from SYD-HNL early Dec. Its on AA stock so it has AA flight numbers Currently, I have my QF# (I left it there for the seats) in there and I would like to change it to my AA# for the extra miles. AY and RJ can't seem to change it... so I was wondering, given that the flights are codeshared if I changed it at either check-in or at the lounge, would it credit correct as an AA flight?

There should be no problem with changing to your AAdvantage number - being codeshared on AA has little influence in this.

The only issue I can see is that as an AA PLAT you don't get First lounge access while your WP would - about a year ago Qantas varied the rules such that to use a QF status benefit at a Qantas facility the PAX needs to be crediting the travel to QFF.

Enforcement of this seems to be varied - maybe at the very least, get that AAdvantage number onto your BP as you exit the lounge or at the gate.

Cheers Serfty.

I was concerned if I would have to chase up AA to get my flights credited if the AA systems weren't talking to the QF systems. I'll take your advice regarding getting the FF# changed and BP reprinted either before leaving the lounge or at the gate.
