Hey guys,

I was wondering if there has been a recent change in distance.

Just got off the phone with qantas in the usa. Highlights as follows.

1. I was told, and she went and asked and looked up, that it was a 60 mile radius. I thought it was 40. Has this changed? she was 200% sure. she could bet her house on it. She told me emirates is managing that now for some reason therefore the 60 miles. If that is the case, i am getting two cars as i am approximately 50 miles out so dont run the risk of not being able to fit all the luggage in.

2. I was told that i am not allowed to contact the supplier. That is certainly not the case in oz but i suppose it could be different.

3. Backup plan of not getting the phone call from the supplier 24 hours before departure is to call QF again and hope they can do something.

Overall, the impression of this chauffeur drive is not so good, also my sister had an experience where she had booked the driver and to arrive in LAX then being told no driver available. She was not a happy chappy, and to add insult to injury, on the return leg, they lost all her check ins.

Not surprised QF is struggle to be honest, when you fly J and this happens. Not very smooth at all.

Sorry for the off tangent rant in the end.

Would appreciate the input on the mileage and supplier contact.

Thanks - scheps

The T&Cs state 40 miles for LAX. I'd stick with that... I've not heard of 60 miles before but if came down to missing my plane I wouldn't risk it simply because an agent said so.

yea that's what i thought. I should have asked her where she lived, so I can go see my new house :P

We used the LA CD yesterday......the company is called Empire CLS. Their business card website is empirecls.com

The driver told me they have the contract for all QF work in LA. They are also the preferred limo car at the hotel we are staying (Hotel Bel Air) and we've used them a few times since being here.......5* service.

Give them a call......they seem to be very professional and willing to get work.

Will give them a call, hope they can make the link of my CD booking and give me some info re cost for 45 mile drive and type of car (bigger the better).

Just checked their website, my guess is lincoln town car would be the most likely?

They were waiting for us in a huge SUV......4 of us, 4 big bags with small bags and back packs. Plenty of room.

No one called us to arrange the number of cars we required (three car entitlement) which made me a little surprised but it all work out and the driver was was very helpful pointing out places of interests on the way.

Can i ask was this to or from LAX?

I thought to request multiple cars, would require you to do so online? under each passenger name if wanting maximum cars?

Good thing it worked out for you! I want to make sure they have a big SUV ready coz there are 2 + baby. Perhaps they realised 4 people, logically, would need a big SUV.

Thanks for the info, very very helpful. Much appreciated!

No worries:cool:

This was yesterday arriving on QF11 (SYD-LAX)....we are a family of 4 with the eldest child just over 12 hence the three car entitlement. I'm not that impressed with the no call/confirming arrangements however, it all worked out ok.

When I filled the CD section out on-line it completed the details for all three of us......I assume if you wanted to go to different locations you would need to fill each FF account with the different details.

I had a Merc (I was the only passenger). Very hard to get the drivers to mumble more than a few words. They should meet the odd Oz taxi driver.

nice.. was it an S class? cars are so cheap here...

So I called and switched a sedan to an SUV. Quite painless actually once i made them realise its a qantas related booking.
