Hi all, first time posting a thread here:D

I am trying book an award flight with Qantas point. It would be a flight from MEL->HKG connecting via SIN.
First leg is Emirates EK405 0225-0815
second leg is CX658 0945-1410
all booked in same ticket

my question is do I need to pick up my luggage and go through custom when transit in SIN airport? Since Emirates is not an Oneworld flight so I am confused on the arrangement of luggage and transit.

Thanks all in advance.

EK needs to have an IATCI agreement with CX not the other way around. This document is only valid where CX is the accepting carrier.

But yes, EK has IATCI with CX and EK can check bags to CX and print CX boarding passes, so you can remain airside at SIN.
In terms of baggage connecting through, the airlines just need to have an Interline Agreement.
IATCI is the ability to produce a boarding pass and send bag tag information to the connecting carrier, this would be an addition to the above agreement.
