The Executive General Manager of Qantas, Mr John Borghetti, said the aircraft would arrive in Sydney tomorrow morning, 17 December, and begin operating services between Melbourne and Los Angeles and Sydney and Los Angeles from 22 December.

This is two weeks before the Jan 4 date recent schedules implied.

You may have changed seats if you were booked SYD/MEL-LAX on QF11/QF12/QF94/QF94 in this period.

I note the 22nd is the standard Mon MEL/LAX schedule, perhaps thay are simply giving OQA a break for some TLC/R&R after more than 40 transpacs of the last two months.
