Dear AFF,

This question does not appear to be answered in other threads. And I did not want to ask this question by crashing someone else's thread.

I hope you can please help in my situation below. Any advice will be much appreciated.

I have booked a Qantas Classic rewards itinerary on the one reservation. I have one PNR/booking code given to me by Qantas. Let's call it AAAAAA. However, when I go to manage my booking for the Emirates leg of the itinerary it says "Your trip includes flights operated by another airline. You can manage options for your trip, such as seat selection or check in, at the Emirates website using their booking reference BBBBBB"

Itinerary is as follows

18th March: Fly Sydney to London on Qantas QF1

I make my own way to Zurich

Tuesday 14th April: Fly Zurich to Dubai on Emirates EK86

Wednesday 15th April: Arrive in Dubai and transfer to Emirates EK448 (DXB to AKL)

Thursday 16th April: Arrive in Auckland @ 9.50am on EK448

Thursday 16th April: Fly Auckland to Sydney on Qantas QF148 @ 6.05pm

Can I please ask

- Will my luggage be checked all the way through from Zurich to Sydney? Even though I am flying both EK and QF legs to get to Sydney.

- Do I have just the one PNR or two? Emirates seems to have their own PNR despite being partner airlines?

- Will I be given a boarding pass for AKL to SYD when I check in at Zurich?

Thank you so much for your help

This is normal (the two PNRs). Qantas and Emirates have separate booking systems, so QF issues you the ticket in their system with a PNR, and also creates the flight records in Emirates' system, and therefore an Emirates Booking Reference/PNR is created also. (If you happen to go the Emirates website, you can use the BBBBBB reference to view your booking there as well).

1. Your luggage should be able to be checked all the way through to SYD
2. See above. It's just because QF and Emirates have their own booking systems, so two records are created.
3. You should get all your boarding passes when you check in in ZRH

Thanks for such an informative answer, Kevrosmith.

I feel relieved that I don't have to worry about my luggage whilst I have a few hours in Auckland.
