Hi All,

As they say long time listener, first time poster.

Apologies if this has been covered elsewehere.

Anyway, even with my slow trickle of points have managed to score a RTW and rtn MEL to LHR (am trying to get on top of the acronyms!!) over the last couple of years.
Back in Jan booked another awards RTW for Aug, after spending hours on the website changing dates etc., you know the drill!
So, one leg is Vancouver to LHR, but have been routed via Dallas, NY-LGA then have to make my own way to NY-JFK and on to LHR. Ok I can handle that, all part of the fun really....
However I have been checking availability on Vancouver to LHR via the website, but now find I cant check availability of individual international legs. Rang the FF hotline, lady was very friendly, said she didn't think that would be the case, but logged on to site with dummy account, and agreed it didn't seem to be available. Emailed Qantas and they advised me to call the 13 number.....
So I thought someone here might be able to advise me, do I need to create a complete dummy RTW to check availability on the Vacnouver to LHR leg?
Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks in advance.

There should no problem checking award availability for YVR-LHR only. Use the one-way option on the award booking engine.

For what it is worth I just checked availability YVR-LHR in August and I can see availability on 2, 17, 18, 19 but I did not check each date to see if this was direct or required a connection.

how many points is needed for RTW (Y or Y+)?

I believe it's up to 16 flights and under 35,000 miles will cost you 140,000 points in Y for a RTW. You also need to use 2 or more oneworld carriers.

Sounds familiar. ;)

Also don't forget the 5 stopovers and 2 or more Oneworld carriers other than Qantas.

PE is 210,000
