Looking at flying with Tiger overseas departing on the 26th of December and returning the 9th of January. Is this period generally considered peak/blackout period and be exempt from all sales that they release.

Any info on how it is generally worked or how sales for this time are released would be much appreciated.

Re: Christmas Peroid

I can't help you with Tiger but generally most airlines will not have sales between early December and early January.

Travelling on Boxing Day is also one of the most sought after dates as people get to spend Christmas Day at home before going away.

Might have to bite the bullet and book it before it sells out.
Do airlines give number of seats left or anything like that if i call ?

You can have a look yourself with SeatCounter. It won't tell you the exact number of seats left for the flight but it will give you an idea of the lowest fare class available for sale.

Booking on the internet you mean ?
I had this issue when i went to upgrade my luggage allowance with AA.
Got charged twice and they we're going to credit me, nothing ever happened

I paid $3k AUD with SQ to the UK in Y to fly on 22nd December and back on 9th Jan or something like that.

Xmas is always expensive.

A friend of mine wants to go to Thailand with me again around Christmas. Current airfares are already at $1550 return (direct flights only on reputable carriers) as best price and climbing.

Last year we paid $1770 for same flights (flights not booked until September) but in November the airfares did drop ~$100 or so. Not really a risk worth taking if you want to go on holidays and want to keep costs down.
