I have a feel that Qantas traditionally runs a sale over the Christmas week to keep the tills ticking over, from memory they usually have it expiring on the first day back at work.

In my diary I've got a couple of itineraries that I'll book if they come on sale.

Might be my fun while Mrs Albatross710 does the Boxing day sales.

Anyone got a heads up on what's in store?

usually they come out boxing day and run from mid january...at least that's what i recall.

From memory there was a domestic sale between Christmas and New Year last year.

Seems to be a few good deals. However, from Perth its a bit like points flights, some very peculiar routing! Is there anyone who would like to PER-MEL-SYD-SIN?

For the same price as PER-SIN, absolutely :D

The current domestic sale would be hard to beat.
Isn't that sale over?

You have to a pervert or a nerd! Why would you want to go the long way round????
To earn more SC's and QFF points for the same price as the direct. I had SYD-MEL-PER-SIN booked for travel in March. Then I got sick and had to change the outbound flight from SIN and the QF consultant convinced me to book the much more direct SYD-PER-SIN.

Thanks guys. From memory the Christmas one is usually pretty attractive as they have to motivate people to interrupt their holidays.

Last year there were two sales - one that went from mid Dec through to early Jan. This had prices similar to the current sale. There was also a Boxing Day sale that had some pretty good fares. From memory PER-MEL was around $169.

Thanks markis10. I saw that this morning and thought it looked different to the other day.

Luckily airfares are already purchased through to end of May....
