citi and ato

Given that citi and ato no longer mix, I was wondering if anyone has ever paid their bills with a overseas card ?

e.g. a citibank card for the states earning AA points (or insert which ever card that takes your fancy)

Thoughts?

First thought that it would not be worth the extra fees and currency conversion costs...

There are several fee free options however I have not yet had the chance to use them but soon will. I need to see what exchange rates they use. I hope it's official visa rates.
