I have the Signature (fee free fro life) from Citibank and is enjoying the Priority Pass (2x per year) free lounge access.

As you need to pay extra for the Qantas Rewards to convert the spending to QFF points, is it better to stay on the free rewards program and use the card for bonus partners like Holiday Inn or Intercontinenetal hotel bookings; and cpnvert the points to Coles or Woolworth gift cards?

I think it depends on what rewards you want. If you want to earn QFF rewards then it's a small price to pay the annual fee for 1 point per dollar uncapped QFF earn. If you're not interested in QFF there are plenty of other rewards on Citi Rewards including converting at 1 point per dollar to other airlines you might be interested in.

your best value for points from Citi Signature would be to transfer to Velocity or Krisflyer and redeem for business class or higher flights
