got an email from QF (automated) and this caught my eye.

"For our Chairman’s Lounge Platinum One, Chairman’s Lounge, Platinum One, Platinum and Gold members and Business Class customers we shall contact you as soon as possible."

Typo? or........

We do have the odd member here that holds said status ;)

Chairman's Lounge membership isn't strictly about that individuals flying. So a Chairman's Lounge Platinum One would be one of those Chairman's Loung members that does atually get to fly a lot.

WOW learnt something new today! I assume the same pre-requisites?

We do. I have seen a boarding pass for one of those members with that status. Doesn't leave much space on the pass.

Couldn't they have simply said:

"To everyone who really matters ...."

I am only a lowly Platinum and there isn't a lot of room left on the boarding pass as it is so I can imagine what it would be like for someone with uber status.

Surely a CLP1 doesn't ever actually have to read their boarding pass, dosen't some Qantas minion tell the CP1 all the details in between spoon feeding their caviar?

No, they have a PA to do that for them. :p

Garden variety CL's have the code CLQF & CL P1's have CLPO.

I guess you are right but then how would other people recognise the Chairmans Lounge Platinum One from say a vanilla Platinum?

Is it the walk? The clothes? Or the air of arrogance?

The caviar stains on the BP are tell tale signs.

It's the jaunty jut of the trousers.

The name tag that says "Hello! I'm Alan. " ??

Yes surprise surprise Chairman's Lounge Platinum One exists. It takes a lot of hours in the air to achieve. In my case the BP simply says CL and QF #. Nothing more to be said.

Nice.
Your butt ache from all those miles as well?

You know what?
I'm still to find a aircraft bed that is half as comfortable or roomly as a single bed in a 3 star hotel.
Trust me, I have slept in a lot of aircraft beds.

So CLPO makes the 2 star hotel equivalent aircraft bed more comfortable?

Anyway enjoy.

Ooh interested in why you have CL (being serious, not having a go), is it due to your job?

The last time I saw a *standard* CL BP, it said "CL EMERALD [xx - the QFF number]".

My vanilla WP BP says "FF PLATINUM EMERALD [xx]".

What does a normal P1 BP say?

Well after having just recently retired from my job, I have retained my CL status through a combination of a good relationship with QF and my own spend. Just some background.
I have actually been under the impression as of late that CL has become seriously devalued through the addition of P1. I'd say that P1 receives the same level of highly personalised attention that CL receives. But still given that CL has it's benefits. My boarding pass usually has (on a QF flight) CLQFPO**EMERALD or something along those lines. When I go on oneworld I just have CL**EMERALD. Surprisingly when I get a boarding pass issued by BA it has the message 'QF CHAIRMANS LOUNGE EMERALD* which is much more detailed by that of QF.

So which benefits CL has over P1?
