It seems there are a number of different emails doing the rounds, may be dependent on your home location. When you click on the link contained in the email it just takes you to the Award Bookings page.

It looks like domestic were the same wherever you are (as usual, Melbourne gets lots of offers!)

Quite a good discount PER-MEL. Booking engine seems to be able to be tricked a bit too, I could get 30,000 return PER-ADL going via MEL on one leg.

I...don't...need...to...book...anything...already...going...for...Grand...Prix...

Hi, I'm Must...Fly!, and I have a problem...

There is no point tricking the booking engine to go via anywhere - no SC's or points to gain.

Ahh but there is a point...

Usually it's 36,000 + tax return PER-ADL.

Doing that little trick gave it out as 30,000 + tax, although I couldn't get it to do it for 24,000 + tax.

Ahh ok! I see your point now!

It is a shame the value of QFF points for point to point international economy awards is quite poor even after the discount. SYD/MEL-SIN for 27,000 QFF points + ~AUD120 on what is essentially a ~AUD400 airfare.

Aahh! But why go direct when you can connect? It gives the opportunity to visit other airports and spend more time in the lounges. Not a bad way to spend the day if you are bored and have nothing better to do. ;)

Normally I would agree with you there.. but on a classic award you don't gain anything extra. But i see your point if you have a day to kill!!
